An emphatic fourth quarter dunk by senior Zydon Clark sealed the deal for Veterans Memorial in a 73-60 win over Jay in a Class 5A Division II second-round playoff game Friday at the Alamo Convocation Center.
The dunk was the last of Clark’s team-high 13 points, but he combined with eight other Patriots in a well-balanced scoring attack.
Veterans Memorial will meet the Harlingen South in the regional semifinals early next week. The Hawks defeated Laredo Martin 57-54 on Friday.
